Process for updating passports


Passport Appointment: First-time Applicants and Children only.

Adult applicants renewing their passports issued to them when they were at least 16 years of age and less than 15 years ago should not make an appointment. Click on this link and follow the prompts: Walk in services are based on availability and individuals are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing.

They will need to produce the required documents at the time of passport collection if they had submitted their application online.

For identification and security reasons, applicants are required to turn up in person at the Mission at least once, either during passport application or collection.

Bring any one of the following: The passport fee must be paid by check or money order payable to the U. The execution fee of per passport application may be paid by check or money order payable to Washington County or cash.

If more than one application is being processed the execution fees and photo fees can be combined on one check. Note: Apply for your passport early to ensure that you receive it in time. If you have any questions about needing your passport sooner than routine processing, please call ahead for help.

* If the remaining validity of your passport exceeds 9 months, the validity upon renewal will be pegged at 5 years 9 months. You renew your passport on 12 April 2008 (2 months from expiry).

The new passport validity will be 5 years 2 months, with the date of expiry on 12 June 2013. You renew your passport on 12 July 2007 (11 months from expiry).

Irish citizens travelling to destinations outside the EU are subject to the specific passport controls and requirements of those countries.

This means, for example, when travelling outside the EU, your passport may need to be valid for a certain period.

The arrangements vary from one country to another, so contact the embassy of the relevant country before you travel for the most up-to-date information on these requirements.

An acknowledgement card (pink card) will be mailed to you within one (1) week from the date ICA receives your application.

Applicants must come in person to collect the passport with the (pink) acknowledgement card and the required documents as stated in the card.

The new passport validity upon renewal will be 5 years 9 months (as the remaining validity exceeds 9 months), hence the new date of expiry will be 12 April 2013.
