"Now it feels extra magical and I wear it all the time." What was Oberst doing in Tepoztlan? Given that Cassadaga was named for a spiritualist community in Florida that Oberst had visited, it was only natural that he would be drawn to a small Mexican town famous for Aztec magic and its high incidence of UFO sightings; a town that is also the reputed birthplace of the feathered-serpent-god Quetzalcoatl. " says the singer of the locale that spawned his 14th album, Conor Oberst.
"There were pigs and wild dogs in the street; lots of people on horseback.
“I rummaged through my life, taking parts of my past lives and intertwining them with my current life,” says Taylor, an Alabama native whose current life includes a husband, two kids and a place in L. I kept asking myself, ‘If I die tomorrow, what would I want my last record to say?
On March 31, 2009 she released her third full length, Lady Luck via Nettwerk Music Group featuring the song "Cartoons and Forever Plans," which was co-written with and also features R. The group disbanded during the merging of Geffen with Universal Music Group.
She plays several instruments, including the piano, guitar, and drums, and has collaborated with such artists as Bright Eyes, Moby, Michael Stipe of R. Her second solo album, Lynn Teeter Flower, was released on March 6, 2007, also on Saddle Creek.
"A Good Start," the first track off Lynn Teeter Flower, was subsequently named one of NPR's 10 best songs of the year for 2007.
"Four Winds" is also the name of a song on Bright Eyes' (aka Oberst's) 2007 album Cassadaga, but now he's still on the aforementioned ring and how he recently had it blessed in Tepoztlan, Mexico.
"A native American friend of mine did it for me during a visit to the Pyramid of the Sun," says the diminutive, raven-haired singer.
Oberst himself guests on the first single “If Only,” and the album’s credits also include Joshua Radin, Macey Taylor, Jake Bellows, Louis Schefano, Morgan Nagler and Tiffany Osborn.
